L: Dear God, you have made an awesome world for us! We see your majesty written in the stars at night. We feel your care in the hands we hold. We hear of your love in your wonderful Word.
C: We will keep your Word in our hearts.
L: You made a perfect world, but we rebelled. Our sin brought death and sorrow. In your perfect plan, you chose the family of Abraham and Sarah to bring us the Savior and set the world right again.
C: We will keep your Word in our hearts.
L: You sent Moses to bring your Word, the Ten Commandments. You sent priests to feed your people, kings to lead your people, prophets to point us back when we strayed. Then in your amazing love you sent your Son, the living Word, to save us.
C: We will keep your Word in our hearts.
L: Be with us now as we open this wonderful book – your Word – and lead us to know all that you have done for us.
C: We will keep your Word in our hearts, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
